Bicycle Carbon Fibre Repair and Restoration

The most common frame damage I encounter involves fractures to the top tube, seat stays, and chain stays—some more severe than others. It's not unusual for frames to arrive with holes in the top tube or with the seat or chain stays completely severed. Over the years, I’ve seen all kinds of damage. Two of the worst cases I’ve handled included a Tarmac SL3 with a hole in the seat tube the size of a golf ball, and a Cervelo R5 with a completely snapped dropout. The good news is that with the right skills and materials, all of these cases are repairable. Each repair is unique and requires a tailored approach depending on the location and severity of the damage. The goal is always to return the frame to full structural integrity. Most customers request that their frame be restored to its original condition, and this is absolutely achievable. After the structural repair is completed, the frame moves on to the paint shop, where a highly skilled artist restores the paintwork and graphics as needed bringing the frame back to life, both functionally and visually.
